Luther House Restaurant

Luther House is a christian centre owned by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania Eastern and Coastal Diocese.

The foundation of this ecntre was laid on 2nd January 1961 by the President of the World Lutheran Federation, the late Bishop Dr. Franklin Clark Fry, and was officially opened on 10th June 1962 by the Dr. Stephano Reuben Moshi (by then the President of Lutheran Federation of Tanganyika now Tanzania) over and above being the headquarter of the Eastern and Coastal Diocese it also serves the publix by providing various community services.

Mviringo Hall

With its unique shape Mviringo Hall (meaning Round Hall) is ideal for meetings, seminars and various ceremonies.

It is full air-conditioned
It has a sitting capacity of 150 people
It is located on the 1st floor


The boardroom located on the 4th floor is fully air-conditiones, has a sitting-capacity of 50 people and is ideal for executive meetings, seminars and conferences.

Our hostel is accomodated in a 2 storey building adjacent to the office block. It has 16 en suite rooms, fully air conditiones with a spectacular view of the Indian Ocean on the western side over looking the Dar es Salaam harbour.

‘Luther House Inn Restaurant’ famed for its variaties of international and local delicious cuisine prepared by qualified chefs, is located on the ground floor of the hostel block. The restaurant opens daily from 07.00 to 22.00h.

Laundry Facilities

Our hostel roof top has a modern laundry with qualified attendants to cater for our visitors and public large.

With its location in the heart of the city along Sokoine Drie adjacent to Azania Front Cathedral and opposite to the New Africa Hotel, Luther House is most convenient for business people and tourists.
